BAEDA Fail

So I have failed my Blog Almost Every Day in April duty. I'm sorry. I would tell you what I have been doing, but I don't want to bore you with a post-long entry about school and how ridiculously behind I am with my work and how I am the ABSOLUTE QUEEN of procrastination. (Really, I have been feeling lazy and non-productive lately -way more than usual. God I'm a terrible student) I guess I'm going to try BEDA again this August, when this whole Junior Cert fiasco is done and dusted. We'll see.

What I do want to share with you guys is stuff that I found lying around the Interwebz, and one of them is the amazing Lex Croucher (tyrannosauruslexxx) putting melody on "The Hanging Tree" poem that Katniss sings on the third (I think) Hunger Games book. I mean, check this out.

It may just be the current season, but I'm seriously loving dresses lately. Yes, more than I do already, if that's even possible. So I was on Polyvore and ohmygosh so many pretty ones and here are some of my favorites:

That's it, really. I'm so sorry I couldn't keep up with BEDA, I'll do better next time.

See you guys soon.

BAEDA 04 - A Million Little Pieces

I finished reading "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey last night. Where do I even begin.

Well, first of all, this book is very different from any other book I have read in my life so far. I usually read YA books, and I think this one is for an age group that is a bit higher than mine. Despite that, though, I enjoyed the book immensely. I loved the author's way of telling his story... it's like stream of consciousness book format. You know, with the lack of punctuation and the repetition of words and phrases. The style reminded me so much of "The Knife of Never Letting Go" by Patrick Ness, except with less fantasy and more real-life brutality.

I used to not understand it when other people describe books as 'raw.' Now I know what they meant, and this book is definitely that. Raw. It's very frank and honest that sometimes I have to stop, close the book, and calm myself down. James Frey, merciless to his readers, describes every emotion, every event, every feeling, so freaking vividly that it hurts sometimes, and when you finish the book you end up caring about these people and you end up feeling broken and sad and angry because quite a lot of them relapsed.

What this book really did for me was it helped me understand. I mean, yes, I don't completely understand and I probably won't ever unless I become a drug addict, but I now understand a lot, lot more than I did before I read the book.

I don't really know what else to say, except it's very good and I would recommend it to other people, just because this is something I feel like they need to know.

Anyway, the weather in Ireland has gone bonkers. I heard it's snowing in Donegal and Scotland in the freaking SPRING. It's sunny here in Kilkenny, yet it's about minus million degrees.

I'll talk to you guys soon.

BAEDA 02 - Laaady GodIIIIIiiiivaaaaaa...

Funny thing, guys. I thought today was the 1st of April. I don't even know how I managed to do that, but since it's me, of course I did. Well that's my Blog Every Day in April gone. Sad face.

I've been so MIA around the internet lately because I have been so busy with school (my dad got my report card last week, by the way. He's not happy and he does not want to see me in front of the computer until June. I'm totally pulling a Mission: Impossible right now) and so many things are just happening in real life that I've been neglecting my internet duties (I'm not leaving you, though, internet. Don't worry. You and me. One True Pairing. Aw yeah). One such duty is the Godiva Day. Again, I thought today was the first of April so I didn't really know that I was missing it, but I did. And I'm sad. For those of you who don't have a clue WHAT I'm talking about (What's wrong with you?), watch this video.

Alex Day is an independent singer and last Christmas, with the help of the NermieArmy, his song "Forever Yours" charted at #4 in the UK charts, and he's trying to do the same with his new single, Lady Godiva, that was out yesterday- Godiva day. He's doing really, really well -he's already number 1 in Slovenia. See.

So proud.
So if you guys have some extra money left and if you think this song is awesome, buy it on iTunes the link is here.

I guess that's all I really have to talk to you about today. I'm now off to catch up on my blog reading and then I'm going to revise some Business Studies. *le sigh*

I'll hopefully see you guys tomorrow!
